This is my favorite picture of Stonewall.

They knew they were getting arrested just for being LGBTQ+.

Yet... they're still here, standing outside of the boarded up Stonewall Inn, smiling as the world was at a fever pitch of hatred against them.

I think about it a lot in moments like this.

"Shortly after becoming CEO of a cash-strapped Tesla in 2008, Musk fought hard to secure a low-interest loan from the Energy Department...holding daily briefings with company executives about the paperwork and spending hours with a government loan officer."

And now he hates government.
Elon Musk’s business empire is built on $38 billion in government funding
Government infusions at key moments helped Tesla and SpaceX flourish, boosting Musk’s wealth.

Note that in this article the NYTimes now seems to be only referring to gender identity as a term contained in scare quotes.

The reporting on the trans travel visa ban is criminal.

It does NOT only affect transgender athletes.

The cables CLEARLY say it affects all trans people. They can reject visas on point 6 of anyone who is requesting a visa that does not match their assigned sex at birth.

I have to say it is a special kind of hell to have watched all of this anti-trans rhetoric and legislation build up for the last 5 years in states and to report on it today.

It feels like a nonstop hose of the worst things imaginable. There are dozens of stories I still haven’t gotten to.
