I know that I shouldn't have a folder on my computer that is the equivalent of a mouldy dumpster, full of random data. But I do 🗑️

📰 New research shows women of African and South Asian ancestry tend to develop and die of breast cancer at a younger age.

🎥 Prof Claude Chelala at BCI @qmul.ac.uk discusses why we must rethink screening and research to ensure no one is left behind as cancer care advances.

Everyone signing up for a social media account should be forced to tick a box that says:

"I accept that not every post is aimed at, or about me."

Facebook absolutely broke so many people's brains.

Really good piece this. The whole ultra processed foods concept is like a nutritional Myers-Briggs, based more on vibes and aesthetic, rather than a solid framework of what is harmful and what is not
This article really hits the nail on the head about so-called "ultra processed foods", a meaningless category so broad as to group together tofu and twinkies as if they had the same health impact.
You’re being lied to about “ultra-processed” foods
Coverage of the latest nutrition buzzword is overly broad, arbitrary, and wildly misleading. The problem goes deeper.

Remember earlier in the year when after going all out scaremongering UPFs, the Guardian published a "UPFs that are OK to eat" guide and they were all Waitrose and M&S. It's clear the designation is meaningless if the middle-class supermarkets and brands are exempt

A reminder that you can put "Thomas and the" in front of the title of any RAIB incident report to get a really dark Thomas the Tank Engine reboot.

"Thomas and the uncontrolled evacuation of a partially platformed train at Clapham Common"

I'm not saying this has definitely happened to me, but I'm also not saying that this has not happened either
I've messed up some long-running experiments before but nothing compares to the pain of messing up a modelling experiment
