U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed EIGHT straight audits.

This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

“If ICE was a military, it would have the 16th biggest budget in the world. You wanna talk about America First? Think about all the things we could do in this country, like giving a [hurricane] warning system to these folks in rural Texas, instead of plucking brown people out of their homes.”

Congress abdicated its role as a separate and independent branch of government on January 20 while also relinquishing all oversight responsibility, so it’s entirely appropriate for Johnson to show that he has surrendered his gavel to the executive.

I truly hope this puts a definitive end to the perpetual insistence by Democrats that they can compromise with Republicans. You can't. These people are extreme, depraved, and shameless. They just stripped healthcare from 17 million people to give themselves a tax cut.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they? Hello?

Reminder that our Constitution guarantees due process to ALL persons — not just citizens — and enshrines habeas corpus as a fundamental right.

Either everyone has due process — or no one does.

Meanwhile the food was bad too
Several guests who attended Trump's crypto dinner this week said they attended with the explicit intent of influencing him and U.S. financial regulations.

Trump is selling access to our government to the highest bidder while lining his own pockets.

It's all out in the open.

Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed.

Getting big money out of politics.

Strengthening unions and fighting for higher wages.

Medicare for all, paid family leave, universal childcare...

This is the progressive populist agenda we need in America.

If I were the owner of the @washingtonpost.com, I would not do a deal with the people who dismembered my columnist. Seems like a low bar, but Bezos managed to not clear yet another one. The world is awash in capital and that this is the choice should tell you all.
He’s so poor, all he has is money.
Jeff Bezos once mourned Jamal Khashoggi in public—now the Amazon billionaire is making billion-dollar deals with his executioner, which reveals more about his values than any vigil ever could.

An elevator pitch of two minutes or fewer. That's my metric for the health of the Democratic Party.

If any given member of this party can't explain to a random voter, in two minutes or fewer, in full confidence, who our leaders are and want they want to do for the country in 2026, that's a problem.
