Fun fact: if you're buying from a creator on etsy, you can reduce their etsy selling fees from 6.5% to 2.5% by ordering via 'shopname.etsy.com' instead of 'etsy.com/shopname' or searching from the main site. It costs you the same but the creator makes more

The Burke Big Bivalve project is complete!
I excavated this clam with our crew back in 2014 and our founder, Mike Triebold, donated it the the Burke museum this spring.

Kelsie did an awesome job on this Platyceramus platinus from the Niobrara, measuring in around 4 feet in diameter. Go see it! 🧪 🦪

This is not a model. Or a shabby taxidermized modern rhino. This is a "fossilised" Woolly Rhinoceros, discovered in Starunia mine in Carpathian Ukraine (then Poland) in 1929. Dating to the Pleistocene, its exquisite preservation is owed to a mixture of brine, oil & clay. Held on display in Krakow. 🧵

A project about Mary Anning fell through earlier this year, but that didn't mean I couldn't make an illustration of her, cause she was awesome. Found ichthyosaurus skeleton, plesiosaurus skeletons, loads of ammonites and fish fossils. Survived a lightning. All cool stuff!

Jurassic salamander from China. You can see the soft tissue of the eye, gills, limbs, even the folds of its tail. And its last meal its stomach…
