I read Robert A. Heinlein's novel 'Stranger in a Strange Land' about 50 years ago (I was 16). The Fair Witness character has stuck with me ever since. If you ask a Fair Witness "what color is that house?" she'll look and say "it's white on this side." I've tried to live that way.
