An observation I've been thinking about:
Around 2020, we were told that US political & corporate elites had been gripped by "wokeness" & thus become obsessed with climate change & diversity. This wokeness was alleged to be so severe & monomaniacal that it threatened the entire culture & economy.

I'm worried that the broader public isn't really understanding the Epstein Files. The problem isn't that everyone in the files is a secret pedophile, it's that all the people are corresponding with him because they *don't care that he's a pedophile*. It's a story of elite impunity.
You can look at the Epstein files and conclude that only bad people have billions of dollars, but I think it’s also possible that having billions of dollars cauterizes your humanity

Female #kakapo Atareta on her nest on Anchor two days ago. She has at least two eggs, which we'll "candle" to determine fertility in a few days' time, when the oldest is about 10 days old. The nest is huge, so it will be hard to access the eggs. #kakapo2026 #conservation #birds #parrots

Definitely not ideal that the political class has collectively decided that property investors are more deserving of financial assistance than the homeless, renters, and people experiencing housing insecurity. Another aspect of the one-sided class war being waged against us in this country!
