Behold: the first-ever list of news outlets that have banned generative AI in their reporting. As of today, this is literally information that you cannot find on Google.

My goal is to fill the starter pack, so please send over suggestions with supporting evidence!

My desire to just go back to bed is so very strong. Why are we even working when it's this dark out? There aren't even students on campus anymore. 😭

I deactivated my IG account earlier this year, and I thought I'd miss it.

I did not.
I believe in you and your ability to remove yourself from Facebook and Instagram. I find it sad people feel like they don't have agency in that choice.

This is what I keep telling people. If you keep giving the fringe movements a platform, you can't say 'it's never going to happen.'

If you find a sidewalk made impassable by snow plowed from the street, it is always correct to move the snow back into the street.
And here is the best plowed sidewalk on 2nd. It wasn’t actually walkable for the full length (I suspect foul play from the city), but they shoved the ice chunks back into the driver lanes, which is what I was periodically attempting to do.

Still can’t get over how Mark Carney hates Canada Post so much he’s willing to kill libraries along with it.
Another poison pill buried in Mark Carney’s budget: a repeal of a reduced postage rates for books and shipments between libraries.

Libraries across the country are sounding the alarm for what it would mean for the viability of another essential public institution.

It seems like the Liberals are willing to slash library service in order to keep from properly funding the post office. Like they can't comprehend any value in public service. With library budgets as they are now, ILLs will basically disappear if this goes through.

This would have a VERY tangible impact on accessibility, especially at smaller academic institutions
Dunno how this hasn't been picked up by the media yet but #BillC15 would remove the provision allowing libraries to send books to and fro by Canada Post at a cheaper rate. In Newfoundland about a quarter of the physical items signed out of libraries use this service! librarianship.ca/news/bill-c1...
