I think I’ve spent too long looking at linear algebra that I thought this donut shop was celebrating the pseudo-inverse of 90 years.
A yellow box for LaMar’s Donuts and Coffee. Top line reads “Celebrating 90+ Years” but the plus sign is superscript, the notation for a pseudo-inverse.

At some point either cause VC funders or other realise this is a complete waste of money or AI growth falters in another way, its going to make the dot-com crash look like a picnic in comparison?

You can tell SPM is uncomfortable about turning 30, it’s spent all year telling everyone it’s 25!

A birthday is a good time to reflect! To mark SPM @ 30, this month's issue of Cerebral Cortex features deeply insightful commentaries on neuroimaging analysis from Ed Bullmore, Peter Bandettini, Peter Fox, Pedro Valdes-Sosa, Klaas Enno Stephan, Viktor Jirsa, et al [1/2] academic.oup.com/cercor/issue

Having flashbacks of using that back in 2013 (I think) when it would only update once every second on our ancient hardware!

What a first six seconds for the Eagles, an injury and a sending off!

Its a complex feeling to receive two papers in the same week for comments, both including authors who sadly passed away too soon in 2025. Hopefully these papers in small part help their names echo though the ages that little longer.

Turns out instead of just voxel and world coordinates, there's a secret third way too?

Pleased to see this paper finally published. We investigated which conductive models are appropriate for source analysis of spine electrophysiology. Turns out modelling the bone is quite important! www.nature.com/articles/s41...

No problem, happy to answer more questions if you have any!

You are correct. Typically the spherical symmetry of the head (and that fact radial sources are silent) means we can approximate the head without considering the skull. It’s a nice to have in MEG where it might be essential for MSG due to the morphology.
