Random take: Russel Brownlee's Garden of the Plagues. Because I need a prestige TV historical drama set in Cape Town, I think it would rule.
OK, less contentious post:

You've been placed in charge of a movie studio, and have an unlimited budget to adapt any work of your choosing that has never been made into a live-action TV series or film. What are you picking?

For me: PC Hodgell's Kencyrath Cycle and there's no close second

I'm trying not to be mad about AI all the time but my *god* Notion's choice to weight their buttons this way makes me mad.

SO much fun, what a rendition!
Look at all these delighted Germans! The conductor is having the greatest time! How often do opera singers ululate?!? (Not often enough, I say.)

This knowledge is the treat I needed for Christmas.
Periodic reminder that these two characters are both named Harry Lime.

Before the internet boom, games tended to be local phenomena, with their own play culture grown from whoever could be bothered to read the manual, or what they learned word of mouth from peers. The idea there ever was one monoculture of TTRPG cultures is just a lie. It's always just been tables.

An angle about tele-operated house robots I’m not seeing is, if it takes off, what a shit job that’s going to be for the operators. Imagine call centres in developing nations spending their days doing domestic labour for wealthy people who don’t have to treat them like humans.

I am looking for some Steam games with a good real-world time element (like Animal Crossing - the time of day matters, and there’s a limit to how much you can binge). Doesn’t need to be cosy, but can be.

Any recommendations?

Hahaha! humour.
Hahaha, right?! Or what about mandatory disclosures for the discrepancy between the salaries of the CEO and their lowest paid worker? That would be so funny, right?! Let’s do it as a funny joke!!!

Airports bring out the communist in me. How did we create a space where people spend millions of collective hours idle, and end up in a world where the only useful thing the space offers is shops.

Though 🔵 is a fair approximation of what it would look like.
