Respected Mother, wherever there is soil, water, or air, you are there. You give us life and nourish us. If we nurture the awareness that we are always in you and you are always in us, then both of us are peaceful, happy, healthy, and strong.

Today's work is a Play Date for February, suggested by The Artist's Way. Throwback to a class four years ago when I needed sanity. I need it more now, in addition to being able to love my enemies here. #maremilive #maremismallart #TheArtist'sWay #JuliaCameron #AmericanStandingWithCanada 🇺🇸 🫶 🇨🇦

This morning's work:trying to ease the fears of my peers as we face losses that may be coming. Grateful for a recipe "fail" that yielded 2 batches of cookies. I'm going to try not to eat them all today. And my huge squirrel mug of espresso. It's only Friday. It's only Friday... 🇺🇸 🫶 🇨🇦 #gratitude

This is my morning's work... a poem to meditate on and illustrate in my sketchbook.

A walk through the forest, followed by friendly crows, hungry for peanuts.

These are today's headlines.

Mandy, from the book of the same name by Julie Andrews (you can listen to her read the four "seasons" of the story on YouTube) A young orphan climbs over a wall, finds a cottage, makes it her own, and nobody knows. This was my absolute dream as a youngster in the early 70s
Question of the Day:
Who was the first book character you fell in love with?

This will probably surprise no one. I think it was also the first book to ever make me cry. #booksky

This is my morning work. I got this 5-year #naturalist notebook for less than $1.99 on "pink" discount day at the thrift store.

In other news, a reminder that spring training is only 30 days away. #GoCards!

"You don't want to hear the story
of my life, and anyway
I don't want to tell it, I want to listen

to the enormous waterfalls of the sun.

And anyway it's the same old story

a few people just trying
one way or another,
to survive

Mostly, I want to be kind"

I don’t care how we do it, but we’re gonna live through it.
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.
