This just happened today with a minivan laying on the horn, and cutting between a catering van turning left and the bus at full speed.
For example eastbound drivers w/a green light, rather than wait for the bus to clear the stop, will either block the intersection or pass the bus by driving into the oncoming turn lane—usually at full speed bc they have the green! Insanity

"Many well-studied changes show that thoughtful street design is key to reversing course. Narrower lanes that slow traffic, adding curb extensions to increase pedestrian access & visibility, & physically separating bike lanes from car traffic are a few examples."

Denying other parts of the city fair representation so southwest can dominate the vote for 10 of 13 council seats sounds like something Scott Graham would want to do.
Fun to walk around lake of the Isles and hear one failed ward candidate loudly plotting with another extremely failed ward 7 candidate about having 4 wards and 9 at large council seats.

There goes the cheap option. :( I won’t be able to get a car loan anytime soon so this sucks for transport options.

I’ve seen no less than 8 cars use the L/R turning lane on East Lake Street to pass by a B Line bus while it’s stopped. This is why we need trains and dedicated bus lanes.

People have decided that there are no rules of the road, and more people’s brains are fried from Long COVID than we know.

"Dora" tells us that harvesting season is her favorite season as she gets to watch the early a.m. sunrise. It's also much cooler to work as they harvest the grapes at night when it's cold so the sugar levels are at its peak and the grape isn’t soft due to the heat. #WeFeedYou

Last month when asked about a Waymo causing a fatal crash, their CEO replied, "we don't say 'whether,' we say 'when.'" This feels like it would have been useful to include in the article.

Our streets are already dangerous enough due to cars, we don't need a new threat. No thanks indeed.

I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

Hey historians 🗃️: Do you know of presses that publish short books (around 30K words / 90 pages plus notes)? I have been working on an article project that could easily turn into an great micro-history of that length, but I'm not sure it would make it to the usual full 60-90K words...

one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.
New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.
