My priority is building something sustainable that serves the neighborhood and the city, not some imaginary subgroup of wealthy people that will supposedly be drawn in from elsewhere. Housing is the best foundation to start with.

Yes. We already have all those things. We need housing on a scale that'll create an entire new neighborhood from Snelling to Hamline. We can't fill all that space with gumdrops and lollipops.

The bridge is basically a huge waste of money just because the RR didn't want to allow a grade crossing on their infrequently used line. There's existing grade crossings at Nichols and at Cliff Rd, but whatever. Nonetheless, this trail will be amazing when it's done.

You can only get to it via Cedar currently. They're building a big dumb bridge over the RR tracks along the river and crews have barricaded access. I've heard cops are ticketing bikers who try to cross the tracks. 🙄

This is the unfinished extension of Dakota Cty's Big Rivers trail btw Lone Oak/Hwy 13 & the Cedar bridge. Right now it's all class 5 gravel, totally quiet, and lovely.

Got to talk with @mccollum.house.gov about health insurance, the ACA, and the shutdown this morning. As small biz owners, our (already expensive!) health insurance premiums will be spiking up 20% next year unless ACA tax credits are restored. Ppl in other states will see up to 300% increases.

Front door blew open Monday morning and Ghost snuck out. Spent 3 days and nights cowered somewhere with no food or water. Finally found her way home at 3am last night with many sad mews.

Her adventure sucked. She sucks at adventures and should really stay home, the big dummy.
