The MN GOP is proposing a law making "residential protest" a crime, and they want to backdate it to August 2025. This would effectively make thousands of Minnesotans vulnerable to criminal charges, and would probably let Feds say Renee Good and Alex Pretti were engaged in "criminal activity."

Ah yes, the usual threat of businesses fleeing the city if their hostage demands aren't met. But it would behoove the Council to consider whether drive-thru restaurants are really what we want to be courting? Encouraging more car-dependence and VMT? And largely within existing food-deserts?

MAJOR: Twin Cities Tenants joins five labor unions, together repping 25,900 members, to launch a rent strike drive, vowing to withhold rent March 1 if @governorwalz.mn.gov fails to deliver an eviction moratorium and rent relief. If launched, this would be the largest US rent strike in 100+ years.

Blue Owl is the private equity fund that owns part of the Timberwolves & Lynx AND in invested in the new ICE concentration camps. My guess is they are going to have to pick one or the other!
Minority owners of FOUR NBA teams are profiting directly from business deals with the DHS concentration camp industrial complex.

Those teams are Atlanta, Sacramento, Charlotte, and Minnesota.

This bill, introduced by the GOP, criminalizes protesting in front of a residence. Pretty sure it won't pass. However.

FYI, many many businesses here have apartments above them.

This criminalizes protest.

Keep an eye out for this shit coming to YOUR town.

As OP says, FUCK you, GOP.

If you only read one thing today, let it be this. ICE is not in retreat. What we saw in Minnesota is going to spread everywhere. Get ready, friends. Take a training. Connect with your neighbors. Find out which groups are already doing prep work and volunteer. Lock arms and love on your community.

“When Musk & Hegseth argue that a racially diverse nation is inherently weak, they're not returning us to some long-established American tradition from which we've recently strayed. They are, instead, parroting the exact same propaganda Nazi Germany promoted against America during World War II.”

Non-Minnesotans, be clear on this: the *one and only* thing they do is racial profiling. The *only* thing. Ask anyone here! If you look nonwhite, Latino particularly, ICE will target you. It’s really as simple as that
Homan: "When they say 'stop racial profiling' -- that's just not occurring. ICE will briefly detain and question somebody based on reasonable suspicion. It has nothing to do with racial profiling."

What did Operation Metro Surge accomplish? Feds say 4,000 people were detained -- but many, if not most, were later released. We now have fewer fraud prosecutors than ever. State prisons/county jails say no holding policies have changed. More from Pioneer Press: www.twincities.com/2026/02/14/o...
If Operation Metro Surge is over, did it accomplish its goals?
Border czar Tom Homan said the federal law enforcement presence in Minnesota would be scaled back as its multi-pronged mission had been accomplished.

I wonder when we'll be ready to talk about how schools are now full of gameified dopamine slot machine apps for learning times tables, science, even reading itself, that are priming an entire generation for gambling and gaming addiction.
A book I highly recommend on electronic slot machines—which fully convinced me they should be illegal for how they systematically mislead our brains—is Natasha Dow Schüll‘s ADDICTION BY DESIGN

Gamified online gambling seems much worse, & is becoming much more ubiquitous

It will immiserate so many
I see no reason not to look at the online gambling and prediction market craze as a new opioids crisis.

It will wreak havoc on lower-income Americans and leave a trail of destruction and despair in its wake.

The companies are just Purdue Pharma 2.0

Disband ICE and give their budget to the IRS Criminal Investigation branch. Surging these guys in the Hamptons and Palm Beach would reap the greatest benefits for the American public of any law enforcement action.
