MnDOT is focused on moving vast numbers of cars and trucks as fast as possible on I-94 inside city neighborhoods. Can you imagine? They have an opportunity to repent and to repair all their earlier sins. Instead they're just doubling down with cement and fumes. I am enraged.

Having this public comment period during the federal siege of the Twin Cities is ridiculous. It started the day after Renee Good was killed. It must be extended to allow more time.

Ho-lee Shit. This is phenomenally good news. Department of Education rolls back— for now— its attempts to destroy Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility initiatives. Keep an eye on them, of course, and watch for the hidden knife, always, but for now: Fantastic news.
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

The MN GOP is proposing a law making "residential protest" a crime, and they want to backdate it to August 2025. This would effectively make thousands of Minnesotans vulnerable to criminal charges, and would probably let Feds say Renee Good and Alex Pretti were engaged in "criminal activity."

Ah yes, the usual threat of businesses fleeing the city if their hostage demands aren't met. But it would behoove the Council to consider whether drive-thru restaurants are really what we want to be courting? Encouraging more car-dependence and VMT? And largely within existing food-deserts?

MAJOR: Twin Cities Tenants joins five labor unions, together repping 25,900 members, to launch a rent strike drive, vowing to withhold rent March 1 if @governorwalz.mn.gov fails to deliver an eviction moratorium and rent relief. If launched, this would be the largest US rent strike in 100+ years.

Blue Owl is the private equity fund that owns part of the Timberwolves & Lynx AND in invested in the new ICE concentration camps. My guess is they are going to have to pick one or the other!
Minority owners of FOUR NBA teams are profiting directly from business deals with the DHS concentration camp industrial complex.

Those teams are Atlanta, Sacramento, Charlotte, and Minnesota.

This bill, introduced by the GOP, criminalizes protesting in front of a residence. Pretty sure it won't pass. However.

FYI, many many businesses here have apartments above them.

This criminalizes protest.

Keep an eye out for this shit coming to YOUR town.

As OP says, FUCK you, GOP.

If you only read one thing today, let it be this. ICE is not in retreat. What we saw in Minnesota is going to spread everywhere. Get ready, friends. Take a training. Connect with your neighbors. Find out which groups are already doing prep work and volunteer. Lock arms and love on your community.

“When Musk & Hegseth argue that a racially diverse nation is inherently weak, they're not returning us to some long-established American tradition from which we've recently strayed. They are, instead, parroting the exact same propaganda Nazi Germany promoted against America during World War II.”

Non-Minnesotans, be clear on this: the *one and only* thing they do is racial profiling. The *only* thing. Ask anyone here! If you look nonwhite, Latino particularly, ICE will target you. It’s really as simple as that
Homan: "When they say 'stop racial profiling' -- that's just not occurring. ICE will briefly detain and question somebody based on reasonable suspicion. It has nothing to do with racial profiling."
