US higher education was a crown jewel, generating knowledge, wealth, prestige, and power unrivaled by anyone.

And the US is throwing it away, because Americans elected a govt ideologically opposed to truth, science, merit, and racial/gender equality, preferring to weaken the country to reduce that.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but the Insurrection Act isn’t the same as “martial law.” It authorizes the molitary to engage in civil law enforcement. And not clear that even then, whether they can enforce state criminal laws

Remember: The real freeloaders in this country are the rich — not the poor or immigrants or any other group of people vilified as scapegoats. The richest 1% evade $163 billion in taxes every year. The United States literally has yacht and private jet tax deductions. Hello?

Only .6% of the Epstein files were released.
There has to be more we can do.

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

You could be next.

The alert also recommends: "Bring your whistle & wear your hat. If you have a respirator or goggles bring them in a small backpack. We don't want to show up looking alarming for the kids but chemical weapons are being used widely in the area."

Good. They should do this for all police officers.
NEWS --> Reps Eric Swalwell and Dan Goldman are introducing a new bill to strip ICE officers of qualified immunity, making lawsuits and prosecutions easier. They also say agent who killed Renee Good should be prosecuted in Minnesota.

There was a national campaign to drive people from their jobs if they said even mildly critical things about Charlie Kirk on the internet, but it's open season on Renee Good. No one's suffering consequences for posting vileness like this.

“Posturing for a new era of cooperation” is an insult to everyone’s intelligence.

Either Sen. Murkowski is stupid, thinks everyone else is stupid, or has no remotely reasonable rationale for standing with the indefensible but wants to keep standing with it anyway.

I don’t think she’s stupid.
The strongest action we get from Republican senators on Trump’s destruction of 80-year alliances is tweets saying they hope he’s not serious.

Jan. 6 was widely condemned at the time, recognized as a violent attack on America. Trump clearly caused it by lying about the election to attempt a coup.

Within a year, Trump, GOP politicians and right-wing media flipped Republicans to neutral/positive, rendering it another muddy partisan dispute.
Five years ago.
