@jfallows.bsky.social What is a "flight control issue"?
For a few terrifying moments on Thursday, passengers were tossed around on a JetBlue Airways flight when the plane suddenly dropped in midair before it made an emergency landing in Tampa, Florida, the FAA and the airline said.
JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Tampa After Losing Altitude
The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane “experienced a flight control issue” on Thursday. More than 15 people were taken to hospitals after it was diverted to Florida, officials said.

@andrewhickey.500songs.com per our exchange earlier today …
Didn't the Tube once have "Keep to the Left" notices everywhere along the corridors? (Would save me from having frequently and increasingly acerbically to point out that "this is a two-way thoroughfare").

This is a tragedy. Those buildings are truly unique, and beautiful.
A fire late on Wednesday tore through a warehouse in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood that was full of work from more than 500 artists. “It’s all we have,” one artist said, calling the fire a “huge loss.”

A row of converted 19th-century buildings filled with artists in the 1990s and transformed Red Hook. Now the work of more than 500 artists may be lost.

The world would be such a better place if looking at everything through “Gen” filters (Millennial/X/Boomer/Z/whatever) never arose. Is this just an American thing, or do other countries buy this idiotic, tedious shit?

Would be good to acknowledge Deborah Butterfield, who has made similar sculptures for at least 40 years. In her newest work she casts the wooden forms in bronze, but her earliest work used wood, just like these.
