It gets a LOT simpler to decide what to do when you start with love for the earth and all the people.

we can come together and talk across differences, we can build active culture, we can plant seeds, harvest water, change topography, and build a world that works for all. Models help but they are only maps; they are not the terrain

They are getting a whole new continent, full of resources, shorter trade routes, that don’t have to involve the global south, and the realization of a dream they’ve had since the beginning of the age of exploration and colonization.

I don't see this talked about much but among several other belief vectors, AI singularity beliefs emerge out of climate doomerism mixed with intentse climate change denialism
As someone who has been following the emerging religious cults of the so-called AI singularity for the last twenty years, this is very good
The Singularity is Nigh! I've a new piece in The Economist on how both sides of the e-acc vs AI Doomer battle are cults of the religion of the engineers. If I say so meself, it's a banger. Economist version www.economist.com/by-invitatio..., or no paywall www.programmablemutter.com/p/the-singul...

I personally know multiple people who used to fervently work in clean tech/green tech, and after intiating in to rationalism-driven AI doomerism retroactively adopted the belief that climate change was either not real, or was not an existential risk and thus not worthy of concern

The Altamura man, Discovered in 1993 in a karstic Italian cave, was a Neanderthal that lived during the Middle-Upper Pleistocene between 170,000 and 130,000 BP.

It is remarkably well preserved, thanks to the thick layer of calcite that grew on it.

I apologize, but as an AI language model, I am unable to generate alibis for crimes, even if the crime "took place in the 1970s" and "was no big deal, in fact a lot of people think it was pretty rad". However, I am able to follow the rest of your instructions, and will post this response via API.
