The Horror Game Awards 2025: PUBLIC Voting Round 1
While the majority of our awards are nominated by our jury members, with the public given the chance to vote on those nominations, we have two categories which are entirely nominated and voted for by the public: The Players' Choice Award The Horror Content Creator of the Year Award These awards will be decided in four phases: Open nominations running from Monday 6 to Wednesday 15 October. A vote on the top 30 nominations, running from Monday 27 October to Saturday 1 November. A vote on the top 15 from the first round of voting, running from Monday 10 to Saturday 15 November. A vote to pick a winner out of the top five from the second round of voting, running from Friday 28 November to Wednesday 3 December. You can take part in this process by voting below. The Horror Game Awards 2025 airs LIVE on Saturday 13 December at 7pm BST.

So, I think it's time I begin, in detailed specifics, talking about the mess that is Unbound / Boundless as a book publisher, in essence stealing most of a years royalties from me and many other authors, as a result of poor financial decisions, and legal BS.

Finally got over my "this isn't my bag" and finished Doom Eternal's Campaign. A good game with some marmite design choices. When it's good (when it flows) it's really good but at points both in gameplay and tooltips, it just stops the player and that is maddening.

So my uni (I'm a MA student) regularly talks to the games industry to inform its courses. AI is a BIG sticking point as the industry is SPLIT. Some want students to learn it as they've worked in AI into their workflows, others absolutely despise AI. (That's the side I'm firmly on)
I told my students that i knew some of them used GPT and gave them a day to write me and let them know (if they did so, there would be minimal recourse. if they didn't, they would get a zero). I learned some interesting things... 1/6
I spent 2 hrs today generating sample essays to confirm that 2-4 students of my 90 student lecture used GPT for a recent assignment, instructing TAs how to spot the cheating, and deciding how I will deal with it in class. Cheating always takes time to spot and think about, but this is next level
