Mazur's preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday morning.

New: Broadview, IL Mayor Katrina Thompson issued an executive order today - her first this year - limiting protest outside the Broadview ICE facility to between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The order cites "recent escalation of violence by ICE" at the facility as reason to restrict protest there.

He tried. The police said it was an emotional environment so the delegate from Linn County was excused when he pushed Multnomah County Chair by the throat. The hotel kicked the guy out, & canceled the conference, but the police refused to take the guy in. That's #antifa culture.

As per usual with much mainstream coverage of US politics, it appears that Republicans never have agency. It's not that the OR GOP has rendered itself electorally unviable by nominating Qanon loving Christian Nationalist 9/11 truthers for Senate, it's that Portlanders are irrational GOP haters.

A major reason why Republicans in Portland are "an endangered species" is that the OR GOP as an institution has become one of the more radically far right, state-level parties in the country. And in a state party gone off the deep end, the Multnomah county GOP stands out for its extremism.
