I love rivers, lakes, national parks, books, whitewater rafting, cooking, and dogs.
It really is amazing to listen to a guy who faked bone spurs to avoid serving in the military denigrate combat veterans of our allies while also using “we” when referencing the historical sacrifices and bravery of our own soldiers.

Every morning I take my Dog out for a walk and a poo, in the park..it's brilliant, she always barks to let me know if someone is coming. So I can quickly pull up my jeans and pretend I was looking for her ball...

Two men pass the time of day on a sun-dappled bench on the courthouse square in San Augustine, Texas, 1943. I imagine them to be old friends and old farmers who tell the same old jokes and stories and always laugh. There's a beautiful spirit about this John Vachon photo.

One of the things I’m really struggling with about what’s going on in Minnesota is that if you describe what’s going on in plain, factual ways to someone who’s not paying close attention you sound completely, bugfuck crazy
Minnesota: "School officials say the [5-year-old] child was used as bait. They say [ICE] agents made little Liam knock on the door to ask to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home."

It's incredibly disheartening to go to a former employer's site to find stories you've written from 10-15 years ago and they're just ... not there.

Years of journalism, of records, of knowledge, gone.

This is the modern equivalent to the collapse and destruction of the Library of Alexandria.

Today is the most humiliating day in the history of the United States of America.

At least until tomorrow.

Once again, we are informed that Christmas cat tents do not get to go away.

(We have two of them. Both are adored and stay out all year. This one is new and they both love it!)

My life of woe continues! Now the human says she doesn’t need my help with the dishes! I’ve seen how well she cleans her plates and bowls and I think they could use a pre-wash!

It’s kind of wild that not only should the government NOT be doing evil shit, they should actually be doing GOOD things for us because we pay them lots of money in something called taxes
