The awful news that Elon Musk clashed with a top Treasury official in an effort to access govt payment systems raises a crucial question: Did Trump authorize this, or not?

I talked to former officials who explain why this is a key question, and why it's so alarming:

Trump and Elon Musk Just Pulled Off Another Purge—and It’s a Scary One
Did Musk’s alleged effort to access the government’s payment systems have Trump’s blessing? Or was he going rogue? Either scenario is bad, but one’s a little worse.

47's 2nd term, is an epic political fantasy. It’s also a frightening intrusion of reality into the rose-tinted picture we may have had about some aspects of our society.

But it's not going to prevail.

Encouraging historical perspective!

I've been writing about birthright citizenship for 20 years. This thread strings together my opinion pieces (not law review tomes, which I will post separately). I wrote a book about the Fourteenth Amendment and I debated John Eastman 20 years ago about his vile plan to end birthright citizenship./1

What a moron, his next executive order will repeal the law of gravity. The best part is all the Republicans have to pretend Trump is making sense.
