What there isn't is a magical technology that allows bulbs to last forever hidden from you by a nebulous "They". LED bulbs are an honest-to-god technical improvement.

There are other issues here too, like the fact that LED bulbs are more toxic in landfills, or that filament bulbs weaken significantly over super-long lifetimes (the longest running bulb at 124 years started life at 60w and now struggles to emit 4w). But not really relevant to the topic at hand

light bulbs were one of the few things the USSR exported to non-communist countries. They were not party to the Phoebus cartel. Their bulbs lasted 2.5k hours on average instead of 1k
Average LED bulbs last over 10k hours. The malpractice is in letting companies advertise that they last for 50k hours

something to keep in mind here is the scale of the issue. This dude is acting like "100 year lightbulbs" were common, but the few Filament bulbs that have lasted longer than 40 years have one thing in common: they're RARELY (if ever) turned off. Cycling is the number one thing that breaks bulbs.

Yeah, I think the timing of new directors of sport / youth development + coaching switch + u20WC this year led to him getting lost in the shuffle... the movement between the A team and the B team has been a mess all season.

you can't install linux on an NTFS drive since NTFS isn't posix compliant, but the linux kernal doesn't have problems reading / writing from NTFS drives.

re: filesystems - YMMV, but I believe that FUSE handles NTFS on Linux just fine, so you don't *really* have to worry about older drives outside of performance issues (Linux is more performant in EXT4)
