Part of the reason I find most discussion/the hype cycle of GTA6 uninteresting because almost none of it is about the game itself.
Its about games that have to move around it, its about how much it can get away costing, its about how it will affect the industry. Not gameplay or narrative.

People get really upset when I say this but I think it's pretty undeniable at this point that transitioning your non-action game franchise to an action game loses you sales. There's not a single example you can point to where that isn't the case!

Nobody likes hearing this but the only thing that's going to 'stop AI' is the fact that it sucks and will never produce anything anybody wants. No gov body will really oppose it b/c it's the last desperate attempt by western tech firms to avoid financial collapse and their fortunes are linked

When I worked in the hotel industry, the big chains were using ancient-ass property management software (Hilton's OnQ was from 2004 and Marriott's FOSSE is literally MS-DOS based with no mouse input) and I've been thinking about this more and more lately.
