The new ICE Bluesky account only follows journalists from NPR, The Washington Post and the NY Times. I guess they must be interested in keeping up with current affairs, cos of course public monitoring of the free press by a Governmental violent militia might look a bit fashy.

Great letter from business leaders in the FT highlighting how chaos under First Past the Post has caused economic uncertainty and hurt growth.

“An electoral system that truly represents the electorate will be good for business, good for politics, and good for the British people.”

In an open letter to the Financial Times more than 20 business leaders call for a change to the UK’s electoral system. They state our short-term, unpredictable politics - driven by the volatile ‘first past the post’ - damages business confidence.

This is a Trump shakedown of the NHS, and it cannot go ahead. Patients stuck on crammed hospital corridors, or unable to get an ambulance, won’t forget it.

The British people didn’t vote for this. The government must put this agreement to a vote in Parliament.

💥 Excellent article in @economist.com about the absurdity of election results under FPTP - and its consequences:

"When the country has lots of medium-size parties, the correlation between the number of votes in, and number of seats out, owes more to Las Vegas than to Edmund Burke." 💯💯

Remember the wall to wall headlines from all the newspapers when Corbyn struggled with the Labour left’s antisemitism?

Are you seeing it about Farage?

Odd that, isn’t it…

WE DID IT!!!

The government has just announced that it´s scrapping FPTP for mayoral elections.

In May, this absurd system resulted in some Mayors being elected on as little as 25% of the vote.

This is a victory of communities around the country. But it's just the beginning...
