Question for @jpstafford.bsky.social perhaps- do you know if this Puma Wales rugby shirt is genuine? I can remember Wales rugby league wearing Puma shirts in the 90s, but this is a different style.

Then, a couple of weeks ago the new WRU Chief Commercial Officer seemed to suggest that the refinancing would consist of a 4-5 year deal - a "bridging loan," in effect. We also learned that the WRU had breached its banking covenants.

How bad have things got?

One thing which has been lost in all the recent fuss is the current state of the WRU's finances, and what they're trying to do about them.

A few months ago the WRU Chair told us that a long-term re-financing deal was on the cards....

Far be it from me to question the planning and judgement of the WRU, but are they aware that the cluster of fee-paying schools they'd need to make into a conveyor belt to get the Leinster model to actually work are all in England?

My understanding is that there are people at the WRU, apparently serious people, who think that Cardiff should be some sort of "Welsh Leinster."

It’s lack of curiosity that’s most disheartening. By all means listen to the WRU but then take that away to scrutinise and test it against other perspectives. Educate as well as inform.
