Dark skies reflect my sadness at the firings of all the humans that help keep the #GreatLakes as healthy as possible. Tonight I mourn the loss of the 14 @usfws.bsky.social employees that kept the invasive sea lamprey at bay. My fishery will be hurt. 😢😢🌊🌊

I can’t agree with this more. Throwing your hands up and assuming illegality implicitly accepts the illegality — it makes it OK.
I truly cannot imagine anything less helpful right now. This is nothing more than the nihilist's version of obeying in advance.

It's an agreed order, signed by the judge; if the federal government doesn't "honor" it, they are violating the order and will be back in court for a contempt hearing.

If you’ve ever complained about free speech on college campuses but aren’t upset about this, you’re not serious.

Can’t even do mainstream economics while avoiding this list.
🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.

There is a pervasive sentiment that marches that don’t disrupt your target are “performative”

That is 100% wrong

Elon Musk is an unelected billionaire. He should not have access to or control over trillions in Treasury payments. From Social Security, to Medicare, and even tax refunds, this is the American people’s money.

Just spitballing, but things that could happen today:
*Court injunction protecting USAID
*Dems demand hearings on Musk's role
*Someone introduce articles of impeachment
*Dem officeholders go to USAID offices with USAID workers
*Refuse to conduct any more Senate confirmations until this is resolved

You say: they shutdown USAID.

You mean: they illegally broke in to a secure facility over a weekend, hijacked sensitive data on vulnerable people and US businesses, destroyed property Americans paid for, cut off resources for sick and hungry families, and fired Americans across the country.

Hi all, We’re still here at OPM.

We have a situation where we MIGHT, and I do mean, MIGHT have four of Elon’s people blocked from the building.

Can we get press or a member of Congress down here? We’ve blocked them for two hours and they keep coming back and trying to go in.

Guys when Chris Rufo and Trump say "We're destroying DEI, we're salting the earth underneath it" and they're talking about regulations that reach back to 1965, they're not talking about corporate diversity trainings.

They are talking about civil rights

Yes. My husband is an NIH-funded scientist studying infectious diseases such as whooping cough, covid, & influenza. The current grant funding his salary runs out of money this summer; a delay in grant reviews means he won’t get a new grant funded before then. He’ll lose his job.
