i sincerely think a lot of you believe that the people who join the service are robotic psychopaths who will mindlessly listen to whoever is in charge, and there is nothing i can say to disabuse you of that frankly delusional belief
THIS ADMINISTRATION AND SPECIFICALLY STEPHEN MILLER DOESN’T FUCKING CARE ABOUT ANY OF THAT OR ABOUT BREAKING ANY LAW
i don't want to dunk on any of the people who replied or quoted this with a "well ackshully the national guard will shoot protesters, look at kent state," but my request is to a) remember that kent state was over half a century ago and b) read about the NG's response in its aftermath

They’re cutting Medicaid
REPORTER: Can you say unequivocally that down the line, there won't be cuts to Medicaid programs?

MIKE JOHNSON: Medicaid is hugely problematic because it has a lot of fraud, waste, and abuse.

Am I the only one who has a sense of dread about how hard tonight went? Like it’s the last hurrah we will see publicly for a long time… this is it, soak it in? Or just me?

After all the promises Trump made and how people claim they voted for him because of groceries (I particularly heard eggs and bacon cited), over and over and over, to see this headline is deeply annoying.

This topic should ALWAYS be coupled with his promises and zero room given for his excuses:

The hardest thing about today is so much around me acting like everything is normal, like something isn’t crucially changing for so many of us and so many people I love.

“Well actually Trump wanted TikTok banned first and now he flip flopped” is the most Democratic Party cope ever. Biden signed the ban into law and he and the party knew exactly what they were doing. Instead of dealing with their left flank they tried to legislate it away. And now it backfired.

I knew it. Multiple people have tried VPN and I said the only way would be to create a new account. They were clear about US accounts being on US servers and anything from Bytedance shut down.

The fact that Xiaohongshu has literally been more welcoming to TikTok users than American platforms implying we’re all illiterate teens, it says a lot about us.

Underrated. This actually made me laugh in a moment I thought I would not.
As a Canadian I still have access to TikTok and will describe what's happening there for the low low price of $10.00CAD per minute.

I don’t see myself going back to TikTok. Because it won’t be what it was. I don’t know what’s happening to it as it goes dark but I know I won’t like it.

People who think that only young people were on TikTok are so disconnected from one of the many layers of reality, it’s astounding to me. I am an elder millennial. I was among a hefty majority. #tiktokban
