All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.

I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.

California, this November 4th, the whole country is counting on you.

Prop 50 puts our elections back on a level playing field, preserves independent redistricting over the long term, and lets the people decide.

So return your ballot today. Vote yes on 50.

I believe that Trump, Mike Johnson and Greg Abbott should not have started this and continued with it in multiple states to rig the midterms. No Democrats want this, but we can’t unilaterally disarm in the face of multiple threats to fair representation nationwide.

A bunch of toxic LA NIMBYs are whining about SB 79, the amazing housing bill the CA legislature passed recently.

It's on the governor's desk, and reportedly he's getting cold feet. Hey @gavinnewsom.bsky.social, please have some spine on the most important issue in your state. Just sign it.

How is this not a screaming massive headline across every news site? This is insane, a virtual declaration of civil war. We fought a revolution to not be subjected to this kind of tyranny

Alex Lee has very quickly gone from one of my favorite politicians in the country (due to his support for progressive YIMBY + transit policies)… to my least favorite due to his frankly absurd desire to let republicans get away with stealing the House of Representatives
well this sucks

If Democrats truly want to appeal to young men, they should probably start presenting themselves as the party that definitively *won’t* draft you into an illegal war.

the reason people want to believe that the modern US has always been this bad, and that there is no escalation that is unique to either Trump term, is because it relieves them of any obligation to do more than they already were while feeling really fucking smug about it
Just proving my point. America has never had a problem killing Africans, and people get raped to death in American prisons already. There's a man at Gitmo being held without charges for nearly 20 years. Trump is just mask off on the evil of the US.

If you are an NC resident and voted in November, please check if your name or the names of any family areone of the 60K votes being challenged. If so, confirm ASAP with your Board of Elections. You only have two weeks.

The website to check linked in the reply.

NC Court of Appeals gives over 60,000 challenged voters 15 days to prove eligibility
The majority wrote that, even though they have the authority to completely throw out the contested ballots, they decided to instead mandate a cure period for most of the challenged voters.

Cool so what happens if GOP attach a national abortion ban to a CR? You'll vote for that too?

🚮
My YES vote is *not* an endorsement of this deeply flawed CR.

My YES vote is 💯 about refusing to shut our government down.

I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.

It’s long past time. Out with the old blood, in with the new. End Schumer’s tenure in leadership. Then the Democratic Party apparatuses, such as they are, into true vehicles for resistance to the implementation of fascism.

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

Farmers are going to run to Congress for another handout to deal with the retaliatory tariffs and the answer from Dems has to be "no."

This isn't out of retribution, it's because we can't keep creating escape hatches for GOP members of Congress. For the benefit of all, keep the pressure on them.

I’m not usually a “yell at democrats” guy but the fact that @schumer.senate.gov hasn’t said anything about this quid-pro-quo with THE MAYOR OF HIS OWN CITY and ensuing mass resignation is just stinning.

Call his office at (202) 224-6542 - it took me a few tries but eventually I got through.
One of the resigning DOJ line attorneys wrote a really good letter and it's literally done more to drive attention to the plight of his office than the entire Democratic Party which represents ~150 million Americans

in what meaningful way can we say that the constitution is in effect when an unelected and unaccountable billionaire is wielding state power to unilaterally cancel congressional appropriations?
Hearing that DOGE went into the Dept of Education today and shut down almost the entirety of the department's in-house research arm, Institute of Educational Sciences, cancelling contracts totally about $900m.
