People think that when you become disabled, support magically appears

That once it’s “official” you will have your basic needs met

The truth is people fight for years to get the bare minimum in benefits

Caregivers are nearly impossible to find

If you’re not rich or very lucky… you’re on your own

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

It's interesting seeing the different ways resistance has formed in different cities. Los Angeles Organized, Chicago Radicalized, and Portland Got Weird as Fuck. All 3 have had success unifying their respective cities.

I guess my point is there are multiple paths to ungovernability.

Those influencing Trump education policy aren't shy about wanting to eradicate public schools.

Asked what % of kids she imagines should be in public schools, Tiffany Justice -- Moms for Liberty cofounder, now with Heritage Foundation -- told @propublica.org

“I hope zero. I hope to get to zero.”

Essential reading--the best article I've read this year on animal exploitation.

"The assembly line, the foundation of modern capitalism, came from perfecting methods to slice up animals while...preventing them from resisting."

twice a year the entire U.S. press becomes a marketing extension of a single billionaire-owned retailer, and nobody in any position of editorial power thinks it's weird or gross

Even during spring shutdown fight, he didn’t vote for CR

While a relative moderate in Dem caucus, he understands politics

Wants to avoid potential primary from left

Every time a Muslim runs for office, certain voices question their loyalties or suggest hidden agendas , the same old dog whistles pop up like “religious connection.”

These aren’t real concerns, just coded attempts to stoke suspicion and distract from real issues.

It’s expected Republicans will try to tie Democrats to Mamdani

John Reid takes it a step further and talks about Ghazala Hashmi’s “religious connection” with him

Many autistic students probably need more services than K-12 public schools currently provide. But instead of segregating them into a fleet of privatized schools funded by taxpayer money, we should increase funding for the special education programs already in existence.
