2 blocks away, got a face full within minutes. Burned our eyes, noses, throats, skin. Many were retching, kids, elders could not breathe. All remained calm and moved quickly, no panic, to get to fresh air blocks away. Helpers washed our eyes. I’ll be 65 in Feb. Never b4 attacked by my own countrymen

Under the Obama administration alone, I encountered stories in which mothers were sexually assaulted near their children. Families were put in solitary. Asylum seekers were denied access to their attorneys. The food was moldy. There is a reason activists called family detention “baby jails.”
