“To use a technical term, it blew my mind,” said Vancouver’s former chief planner Brent Toderian…”They weren’t lazy about it—they didn’t just throw up barriers and ban cars. It might be the best bargain I’ve ever heard,” Toderian said. #Montreal

Thanks to all who came out for our Love Local Wine Walk. We gave away 30 packets of Florida wildflower seeds and raised $350 for our Green Up Fund. Those funds will go toward phase 2 of our pollinator garden in Alley no. 3. Thanks to Chef Tonda for letting us use her private event space for check in

What if—instead of noise and fumes—we filled our streets with people, trees and the sound of chirping birds?

In 1996, Utrecht NL transformed a 6-lane car street thru the heart of the city into a car-free street that easily carries 40k people on bikes a day plus a LOT of public transit riders —far more people now than ever moved on it in cars. And with so much less pollution/emissions, noise & public cost.
Evening rush hour in Utrecht.

Much more efficient than if everyone were in a car, without the constant noise and air pollution and without grinding the complete city center to a halt.

Now who wouldn't wanna commute like this?!

Change is possible. It just takes commitment.
What if you could take a polluted corridor and make it an urban forest? Brussels did. (Same spot, 2009 v. 2023)

Recalling the time we made a homemade crosswalk from latex paint and roofing paper to make a point, haha. It took ten years, but look at our crosswalk today! #safestreets #crosswalk #APGD🌿✨

Love how vibrant and people-centered this place is.
Lamb’s Conduit, a proper curbless street in London: bollards, greenery, car restrictions, slight wiggle. All the good stuff.

Love this.
Sure, it's easy to want to give in and drive a car for errands in the cold, but what if your biking infrastructure gave you the incentive of enjoyment?

Heya! Our first books arrived for our upcoming APGD Little Lending Library. We’re taking a slightly different approach to ours - the books will be focused on things relevant to our community. So, books about Florida birds, sustainable gardening, life in Central Florida, etc. #apgd #ecodistrict

🌤️ Oh hey, Blue Sky. NBD, just the Audubon Park Garden District making our debut in The Good Place. 🍃✨ So yeah, we’re here to keep it local and keep it weird. Stick around if you’re into that kind of thing. Or don’t. But you totally should.
