For years, but especially for the past year, Democrats have been in thrall to the idea that they need to chase an imagined median voter, and adopt that voter’s positions. Mamdani’s victory shows another way: hold principles, and persuade people to share them.

I enjoyed Ghost of Yotei a lot — as I have many recent PS5 exclusives — but I’m starting to get a little bored with the same themes repeating themselves.

Here’s a piece on grief, revenge, and PlayStation's struggle for new stories.

After Ghost of Yotei's tale of revenge and grief, is it about time PS5 exclusives got some new ideas?

This “solo dev” and “only 3 devs” rhetoric is getting truly dangerously out of hand. Investors see this and think “I only have to pay 3 people” and the result is severely overworked and/or underpaid people and a subpar product. We need to stop treating outsourcers and contractors like ghosts.

I don't know how to say this politely, but it's time we move on from Geoff Keighley.

One person being in charge of all the big industry events is not a good thing. We see this man on stage three times a year and it's the same song and dance every time

Hey. I've written a new article.

One of the difficulties in talking about "how can we do something better" is that it means we gotta talk about what isn't going well.

I wrote this in the hopes that reading it would give you tools to write work you're proud of.

People and media often say Balatro was made by 'one guy'. I feel like that unfortunately may be stoking the flames of this David vs. Goliath narrative a tiny bit

No it was not 'one guy', look at the dang in-game credits
This year's Summer Games Fest presentation was really concerned with how few people made a lot of those games, huh?

It feels kinda fucked up. Not just because they're often misrepresntating the real size of these teams, but because I think it's playing directly into a new(ish) flavour of dev hate.

I tweeted this before I understood the full scope and ambition of this game... holy crap. If you're into visual novels, don't miss this one. It's like if Danganronpa and Virtue's Last Reward had a baby that took a bunch of growth hormones
I've been playing The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, the latest game from Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka and Zero Escape creator Kotaro Uchikoshi, and it's great — a return to form after some whiffs from them both. It's part visual novel, part strategy RPG, and thoroughly entertaining
