This is the biggest data harm case in the history of the UK and it just got bigger.

Because of a bug in Fujitsu system hundreds of postmasters were sued, jailed and bankrupted.

Now it's revealed THE POST OFFICE KNEW IT WAS A BUG AND NOT A FEATURE. And they continued destroying people's lives.
Post Office had deal with Fujitsu to fix Horizon errors 19 years ago.

They lied to courts, parliamentary committees.

Postmasters knowingly wrongfully prosecuted, Lives destroyed. Compensation being paid from public purse, none by those who profited from the scandal.

No one charged for conspiracy.

The emergence of a document contradicts claims made by the Post Office over bugs in its IT system during criminal prosecutions.

So, by this measure, the shortest day (world-wide) of 2025 was the 10th of July -- 1.36 milliseconds shorter than 24 hours (Solar Time).

Of course, these superlatives are based on hours of daylight.
If we measure a day by how long it takes to make one rotation we get a different answer.

Yes, this rotation time varies from the nominal 24 hours.

Today is the Winter Solstice (Northern hemisphere), and the shortest day of the year.

Coincidently, in the Southern hemisphere it's the Summer Solstice, the tallest day of the year.

DTEK showed what was left of it. The company said that energy workers are doing everything possible to restore electricity to homes as soon as possible.

It's craziness to believe they actually care about you.

They don’t.

Before long (maybe already) we will need to re-invent the university from the ground up as a community of scholars where knowledge is shared and made and where other may start their journey in scholarship, if they wish.
"What unfolds here is not the integration of AI into education, but the integration of education into AI: the reconfiguration of the university as infrastructure for technocapitalism."
Today, Bruna Damiana Heinsfeld examines recent "partnerships" between universities and big tech. Who do such deals serve?

My question is:WHY oh why is any MP, public or civil servant still using X??!🤬
Just what will it take for them to accept the damage Musk is inflicting on this country & our communities?😳☹️
Any reasonable PM would’ve either shut down X or imposed a £1m fine for every published hate filled fake post!🤔
The credulity that some MPs - and some journalists - display in engaging on X is most worrying

Most think they’re ‘not vacating the public square’

In reality their brains are being fired and their idea of what ‘the public thinks’ completely manipulated - which has massive potential consequences
There are MPs still interacting with the far right on X. A platform designed and run to undermine the UK and to shatter its values with hatred and violence. They're talking to people who want to deport them and who despise every word they say - and let's face it, don't believe they have any rights.

Charlton Heston and Edward G Robinson were sat on the set of Soylent Green. Heston began moaning about shooting delays.

"Charlton." Robinson said smiling, "THIS is what they pay us for. The acting we do for free."

Robinson was dying of cancer, although he didn't tell anyone. It was his last film.

The calls from America this weekend to "abolish the EU" are for one simple reason: the EU is the only thing that can keep European nation-states from becoming Russian or American vassals.
The US has declared rhetorical war on the EU
The calls from America this weekend to destroy the EU are revealing. They hate the union because it's the only thing that can keep European countries from being Russian or American vassals.

Starmer should seize frozen Russian assets in this country - today - and convince Merz and Macron to do the same.
