Stunning.
I always thought the first time I had a chance to see and photograph the Aurora it would be somewhere like Iceland, or Alaska. I was wrong. It was in New Mexico! 😂

And if you look closely, you can see a bit of the Milky Way up above as well.

She was an American treasure.
Sad to hear that Betty Soskin died, but at 104, she moved through time, and with impact. I talked with her 10 years back in a very short profile for The American Scholar:

While on a science diving trip in Kona, Hawaii, a group of Aquarium staffers encountered a humpback whale. 🐋 The experience led them to commemorate the whale sighting with matching tattoos.

How cool is the deep sea?
"While most sea slugs use a raspy tongue to feed on prey attached to the seafloor, the mystery mollusc uses a cavernous hood to trap crustaceans like a Venus fly trap plant."

(from last year, but still v cool)

Isn't the #Brockenspectre phenomenon the most mindblowing visual experience? It is basically a fully circular cloudbow & it happens often at the summit of #Haleakalā Volcano. 🌤️🌈

Agreed. Teen Vogue has done outstanding work. Sorry to hear this.
This is terrible news. Teen Vogue has done tremendous political journalism in the Trump era. More outlets could learn from their courage and clear-eyed coverage.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Power.
This is why I am so proud to be a Democrat. We are NOT the same as Republicans. We are just fundamentally different people and the corporate media is WORTHLESS. Well done Rep. Joe Neguse!
@neguse.house.gov gives a lesson on how to reframe a journalist’s stupid question about #SNAP! 💪🏼
