We met with residents to discuss public safety concerns. Thank you to all government agencies for attending & listening. We've seen quick resolutions from MPD & cooperation from nearby apartments. It's essential to prioritize resident safety in our decisions. The work continues!

Every community deserves clean streets and safe neighborhoods. The Recycling Refund and Litter Reduction Act is a step toward a cleaner, greener DC, while addressing racial equity by ensuring all neighborhoods—especially those historically overlooked—can thrive with dignity and pride.
If D.C. passes a bottle bill, recycling rates will go up, and bottles and cans in the waste stream will go down.
Just ask the 10 other states that have similar programs.
In Michigan, the return rate for bottles is 73%. In Maine, it’s 77%.

I just wrapped up watching The Six Triple Eight Movie, & I can't express how inspired I feel! Time and again, Black women have been the backbone of this nation, leading the charge & making incredible sacrifices. Hats off to Tyler Perry for bringing this important story to life!

Today is a disappointing day for our criminal justice system. The existence of a two-tiered justice system favoring wealthy white men is exhausting. We deserve much better.
NEW: Judge Tanya Chutkan dismissed the charges against Trump in the DC election subversion case without prejudice. This allows the Justice Department to refile charges once Trump is out of office.
BREAKING: Special Counsel Jack Smith asked a federal judge to dismiss the charges brought against Donald Trump in the DC election subversion case. Smith asks for the case to be dismissed without prejudice and leave open the possibility for charges to be filed again in the future.

I started VP Kamala Harris’ book, The Truths We Hold. It’s quite funny that there is nothing new about her. Her messaging is the same, her values are the same, her being for the people has never changed, and her blackness has never changed. We just weren’t hip and ignorant of who she really is.
