The Insurrection Act does require an actual insurrection. The violence in Minneapolis is almost exclusively one-sided. People yelling at you, calling you names, and recording you on a cell phone isn’t violence. And if the courts let Trump say it is, we’re in a lot of trouble.

Waltz (and Democrats writ large) have no idea what to do. They don't want to show open resistance for fear of escalation, so their best advice is to just let the Nazis do literal Nazi shit without resistance... which isn't tenable. They offer no actual way out.

i think it is ok to reiterate that the victim as a us citizen. yes, noncitizens are equally entitled to human rights. but also, it's important to illustrate how ice isn't about immigration at all
