Radio buffs help me. When was the last time that the 1981 adaptation of The Lord of the Rings was broadcast on BBC Radio?

OTD in 2002 Ukraine dismantled its final Tu-160, supersonic heavy bomber.

Having given up nukes, long range ability to threaten Russia and the entire firing chain, Ukraine was subsequently rewarded with invasion, concern and thoughts & prayers.

No ICC commentators, I don't think Scotland will need a flight to get to England for the T20 world cup

Love how the BBC Sport app doesn't even have a scorecard of Scotland women's game against USA.

It's only a qualification match for the T20 World Cup later this summer in England. No big deal or anything...

“Jean-Luc, don’t we need a script?” “Jean-Luc, you’re making this up as you go along!” also manages to sum up what’s going on behind the scenes of all three seasons of The Picard Show.
“Jean-Luc, don’t we need a script?” “Jean-Luc, you’re making this up as you go along!” - enjoyably the final caption describes Breathless as “influential” rather than “good” which makes it feel like Linklater is in on the joke.
9) Nouvelle Vague. Enjoyable movie about the making of “Breathless” that if, like me, you think “Breathless” is a load of crap, is inadvertently very funny.

50 years ago, and Concorde still looks magnificent. As does the 30 year old Lesley Judd.
In case the BBC Archive didn’t post this on here, the first commercial Concorde flight was covered by a live Blue Peter. Lesley’s piece to camera is incredible work. I am now 7 years old again - and this impressed me at the time (and still does). youtu.be/C8OL2BkOnoc?...

No water, no heating, no power, -15 degree weather outside.

It is not on the front pages of your newspapers, but Ukraine is living through a humanitarian disaster right now because of Russian bombardment and the world has barely noticed.

Remember folks, Chomsky called Faurisson an “apolitical sort of liberal” and said Diana Johnstone’s genocide denial was “outstanding work”. So maybe he’s not the best judge of character. Or maybe he’s just a terrible human being.
