It was a great morning in the office at Haven House Children's Hospice today as we met Father Christmas and he was sharing with us that he plans on running in the "Santa in the City" race on the 3rd December: www.justgiving.com/page/paul-fr...

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Not to go all sic transit gloria mundi and all that, but there was a time when the Guardian’s sub editors would have known their Kenneth Clark from their Kenneth Clarke.

When you are advising Ukraine's military I hope you don't lead with that opening line.
Because everyone wants to live next door to a Chernobyl.

Moreover, if war breaks out with Russia, the UK's nuclear power plants wil be amongst the first priority targets for nuclear strikes.

If they're built near a city the Russians can 'kill two birds with one stone' or, rather, one megaton. 🤷‍♂️
'Nuclear plants should be built closer to urban areas and should be allowed to harm the local environment, a task force commissioned by the prime minister has concluded.'
Irresponsible lunacy.

The @BlueJays won 94 games in 2025 after winning just 74 in 2024 - the largest win increase in MLB last season.

Which team will be the most improved in 2026?

Amazing, the game on 5's Big Game Night has gone into overtime so they've moved it onto 5 Action because obviously they couldn't possibly reschedule the programme that follows it, The 1970s Supermarket At Christmas

I was worried with the retirement of Stuart Broad that England would seriously struggle to reach the comedic heights in this Ashes series that we saw between 2009-2023.

How wrong I was, England batted like clowns.

@georgedobell.bsky.social #AskGeorge it normally takes Australia about 10-12 days of play in an Ashes series down under to retain the urn. Have they just done it in two thanks to TravBall?
November 22, 2025 at 9:53 AM
And, as is traditional, Australia has retained the Ashes in Perth.
