Elon Musk's DOGE is moving to downsize the Social Security Administration with office closures, cutbacks on phone services and new rules requiring in-person visits for some prospective beneficiaries.

And he's making those changes without consulting some of the most senior Republican lawmakers.
Top Republicans say they're out of the loop as DOGE downsizes Social Security Administration
They aren’t complaining about it, at least publicly. But some would like a heads-up on office closures, staffing cuts and other changes that affect their constituents.

Sad to see where the Steelers rank in this.
Every NFL owner professes a desire to build a winning franchise, but not everyone truly cares about winning as much as they would have you believe.

And very few understand what it actually takes.

Elon Musk's plan to cut the Social Security Administration's staff by 50% would cause 37,000 more Americans to die each year waiting to receive their disability benefits while the average wait time to collect these benefits would jump to 412 days.

That is beyond unacceptable.

I guess someone will find a way to blame this on vaccines.
That poor child.
I’m older than dirt. I had multiple rounds of measles, mumps twice, nasty case of chickenpox once, all pre-vaccines. When our daughter was born, we had her vaxxed as soon as she was old enough.

Here's what Trump supporters don't get, or want to get: Fired federal workers don't just disappear into the ether. They will be on unemployment (I hope). They'll be competing for jobs with Trump voters. They'll need Medicaid. They won't buy stuff. This pushes the economy closer to recession.
