I think he was mostly relieved that we didn't accost him at any time during the panel or draw attention cause he looked over his shoulder a handful of times at us and around during. This was at about the height of Simpsons being a cultural force (2008, I think) so he knew we would be chill.

Also medical translators have to kind of read into what's being told them and use context to figure out what patients are telling them so that the providers can figure out what's wrong. It's not just getting the right translation for "die viticuli" or somesuch.

My parent began transitioning in her mid fifties once my youngest brother graduated college. She's in her early seventies now, retired, and doing quite well. I think she'd echo this sentiment for sure.

I literally just posted about this exact thing.

My first holiday with my future wife's parents was definitely a bit of culture shock for my WASPy ass that's for sure.

They're now retired and are smoking a lot of weed so it's made things much chiller.
