This feels like a very Chicago reaction to this.
Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.
Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.

Honestly this tracks. The last real malort face moment I had was when a buddy of mine got married about ten fifteen years ago at the Hideout and they did a malort toast for the whole crowd. Great picture though.
for a very very long time malört was both 1. wildly I consistent in intensity of flavor, and 2. way, WAY more intense than the shit you can get now.
in 2018 the malört brand was bought by CH Distilling. they changed their wormwood supplier from eastern European wild foraged, to American farmed.

I'm on one of the last bags now and it tastes like someone accidentally dropped an apple jolly rancher in your cup and then fished it out fifteen minutes later when they found it.
Okay so I was at a fundraising auction for trans healthcare and won a lot of coffee. And it was for a good cause and I'm glad I gave money, but... The coffee itself ranges from mid to actively terrible. And now I'm staring down the barrel of like six bags of bad coffee I have to get through.

This is great.
My parent is pretty small and slight and can easily shop in the "women's section". The only time she's really clocked is when dudes ask her out and she has to figure out whether to tell them or not and that's potentially fraught enough she just often keeps to herself.
The reason they're so focused on trans teens is that people who transition younger typically blend into society better. To the extent that they're willing to tolerate our existence in society at all, they'd rather we be easily identified by our appearance/voices/etc.
Cis people really have no idea how it feels to watch a regime hold a press conference to admit, on camera, the pogrom against trans people they've been waging for 11 months is not only real, but they're going to double down on genocide and try to wipe out all the children first.

One (unsurprising) thing about working midnights is the isolation of it. It's really easy to just miss things that happen for days. So when you start shifting back it can be a mini culture shock.

People who argue "who cares it's just for kids" all I can say is fuck right off. Kids deserve thoughtful, well-made movies that challenge them just as much as adults do. Kids aren't stupid, and they remember how movies affect them basically forever.

The Indiana GOP trying to carve up Indianapolis and accidentally creating a state house election entirely decided by the state's main urban center would be hilarious, so, fuck it, go ahead and pass the map.
The IN GOP is too cowardly to just say they reached the zenith of gerrymandering & further map meddling basically guarantees losing the like whole state to the Dems if the wind should blow in even a slightly different direction for just like a long afternoon but I'm not! I'm not cowardly at all!

This little girl was crying under a dumpster in the freezing rain so we're waiting for a vet tech to drop by with a special tracking collar cause apparently she's an outdoor cat taken care of by many people and she had kittens so they're trying to track down where the kittens are before it freezes.
