#KerriAherne, accused of stabbing a mom changing her baby in Macy’s department store restroom, had "cycled through psych hospitals", including spending a year at the #ManhattanPsychiatricCenter on #WardsIsland. She also lived in a homeless shelter before the #MPC.

Show up at your Community Board meetings, folks. Choose 2 or 3 committees that interest you the most and attend their meetings too. At every meeting, have something small but valuable to say. You'll be surprised.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.
