Essential reporting here from my colleague on how the national/regional crisis of federal immigration raids is intersecting with Evanston's local school financial crisis, leaving some of District 65's most vulnerable families out of the conversations around which schools will be closed:

“He has also been asking, ‘If daddy gets deported what will we do?’”

Evanston parents say Hispanic voices have been “pushed aside” during the school closure process — all as federal immigration crackdowns sow fear. My latest @evanstonroundtable.bsky.social:

So proud to have tag-teamed this piece with @alexhairysun.bsky.social and Margo Milanowski. What exactly happened when Customs and Border Patrol agents were met by community members at an Evanston intersection on Friday afternoon?

From an interview I did with an Evanston man who filmed the incident at Oakton/Asbury today:
From an Evanston resident filming an arrest at Oakton/Asbury ~an hour ago:

"He was being very violent with her, I said ‘You got to stop that,’ and he said, ‘Step back or I’ll fucking shoot you.‘ I step back, and then I continue to record, at which point he turned around and pointed a gun at me.”

NBA owners are flocking to buy into the WNBA.

Could the Reinsdorfs be next in the trend?
WNBA is attracting more NBA owners. Would the Reinsdorfs — or another Bulls owner — have interest in Chicago Sky?
The Chicago Sky soon may be one of only four WNBA teams with fully independent ownership. Could that change? And would Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf consider following the trend?

It appears a green object was thrown onto the court at the Sky/Valks game. I couldn't see it for myself, but seems it may be the same type as at Dream/Valks game. Security was talking to people in the 200 sections.

Kaitlyn Chen ’24. What a story. Lost her first year playing at Princeton due to COVID, built up her skills under an incredible Princeton coaching staff led by Carla Berube, and cashed in the covid year for a National Championship with UConn. An Ivy degree + a natty!
