100% introvert. My best friends are two cats & a Boston Terrier. I will read just about anything interesting but mostly enjoy horror/sci-fi/fantasy. Before covid/menopause/who knows what trashed my body I used to run (far not fast). Now I dream. she/her

Another of my #termsOfVenery print for #PollinatorWeek: The delightful term for a group of moths is an eclipse. 🐡🧪🦋This hand-printed lino block print shows 5 of the noctunral moths of Ontario in front of the moon at a lunar eclipse. The 5 moths are: the gorgeous green Luna moth (Actias luna), 🧵

I don't know man, but I think you're doing great. Shit is really tough right now on so many fronts. I'm not saying it'll get easier or better anytime soon. I have no idea. But being creative, writing, drawing, whatever, is no small thing. And taking joy in those things is never a waste of time.

WATCH: “This is a tragedy for the free world. But first and foremost a tragedy for the United States.”

This 8 minute speech by French Senator Claude Malhuret on Trump siding with Putin and what it means for the world is worth your time.

An ant crosses your carpet. A spider weaves a pattern older than mammals beneath your stairs. Just nod, breathe, and think, “Good. It’s all still here. The forest, the mountains, the desert. At home in my home.” The sterile white box is the stranger. Not the ant. Not the spider.

Just a reminder that there’s an app available for your TV called PBS RETRO where you can watch all sorts of wonderful old pbs shows like Mr. Rogers and Reading Rainbow, you know, in case you might need that sort of energy right now

How to write a poem:
1) Notice a big thought.
2) Distrust it.
3) Find a tiny, chipped flowerpot.
4) Realize you love the big thought too much to crush it down into the dusty little pot.
5) Do it anyway.
6) Place the tiny pot on a huge, empty table to emphasize its importance.

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

I know, I know,
the public health emergency
has been declared over
but today I saw a headline
from the newspaper of record
declaring: “Can't Think,
Can’t Remember:
More Americans
Say They’re in
a Cognitive Fog"
which makes it seem
like the emergency
is only just beginning.
