And just to be clear, sometimes actors do legitimately get tricked into auditioning for roles that they didn't know was a re-cast, and only learn about it after the fact.
If that happens?
So long as you're not violating any contractual commitments, you can always step down from the role.

🎭 Did you land a role then find out it's a recast out of retaliation? Don't take the role. People will remember (especially the marginalized and disabled). Your potential con money won't replace a career.
