Ancient millennial. Negative emotions are emitted from this aperture when guards are removed and interlocks defeated. Avoid direct or reflected exposure. Do not stare into abyss with remaining eye.
Bring on the after xmas sales. (Probably won't buy anything, but window shopping is generally inexpensive.)

I have to wait until 9 to get a latte because someone died or was born or something. Fuckin stupid.

I'm a little tired of the whole Thanksgiving>Christmas>NewYears thing. There's nothing stopping us from mixing things up. I say move Thanksgiving to January. Where is our stomach for calendar innovation gone?

In a video @tastinghistory.bsky.social mentions a website called Townsends. You should check out their clothing section, everything looks so uncomfortable. Makes me wonder if clothes will be even more comfortable in another century — assuming we somehow aren't extinct yet.

Ever since Westworld had trifold tablets I've wanted a trifold phone. I won't be getting it, I don't have a use for one anymore. Also I particularly dislike Samsung's obsession with making Android messy and confusing.

Funny story: If you trauma dump on me I will go into full emotional self-defense which you'll misinterpret as rejection and stop returning my texts. Haha!

We've had early-pretty-much-everything sales and yet I've not seen any early after-xmas sales.

Christmas is basically here, as evidenced by the flood of "its not too late to buy a gift certificate" emails.

Upgrades I'm considering:
• Bigscreen beyond 2E, still very custom TPU print centric.
• Shiftall Meganex 8K, uses a custom compositor for some reason.
• Pimax Air, requires PiMax Play? What is that?

It's very difficult to choose an upgrade from a Valve Index because:
• Nearly everything is technically an upgrade because it's so dated.
• Most people's frame of reference is something much newer.
• Choices differ depending on whether you want to keep using the Valve controllers and base stations.

Tis the season when every restaurant you've ever ordered from begs you to buy a gift card so they can balance their books. If they give you kickbacks ($10 credit on a $100 gift card) you are technically giving them a loan on which they are paying you interest.

It must be nice to frequently have ideas that are worth keeping — or conversely it must be horrible to need to be able to record responsibilities instantly. Either way it's not for me.
We just launched a new product - Pebble Index 01

It's a small ring, with a button and mic. Press the button, talk and it saves your thought.

I use it many times during the day to jot down reminders, todos, book recs, etc while my hands are full.

Just $75 - preorders on rePebble.com/index

I don't want to tell you that I'm out of ideas, so I'll just think it very loudly.

Are you implying the monkey's-paw price for immortality is having to have an AI slop call with an elderly woman for all eternity?

Hard pass.

Cooling issues are far from the only reason that datacenters in space is a stupid idea: Maintenance and upgrades are effectively impossible. If your space datacenter could benefit from new GPUs, no it can't. What it launched with is what it has until it burns up in the atmosphere.
Just because it's being passed around a lot: NO, data centers in space do NOT benefit from space being cold. Space is cold in the formal sense we use to define temperature. But it is very bad at cooling. What would you rather have to cool hot metal: a lukewarm water tub or a giant cold atmosphere?

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

Fortunately it's "Space" Mutiny, not "Star" Mutiny so it wins on a technicality.
