WaPo reports that ICE is planning 7 massive human warehouses holding 5,000 to 10,000 people.

Recalls the acting ICE director 2015 statement that he wanted to see a “business”-oriented approach to deportations, “like [Amazon] Prime, but with human beings”.

They described facing assaults and threats from Israeli soldiers — and said the U.S. government did little to help.

In Chicago, a woman was driving to get coffee when a DHS vehicle fleeing an angry crowd crashed into her car. Armed agents jumped out of the vehicle, yanked her door open, pulled her by the legs out of her car at gunpoint, held her incommunicado for hours, then released her with no charges.

The unquestioned AI hype at #MediaFest2025 from is honestly so boring. Where is the skepticism in the face of a long lineage of other attempts at automation not panning out? No one here took an automated cab to this. Ask why problems with 90% complete solutions haven’t made the last 10%?

But city Comptroller Brad Lander is now telling people he wants to run for that seat, so there may be intense pressure on Avilés to drop out to avoid splitting the progressive vote.

It would cost ~$40 billion to end world hunger.

Instead, the US government spent $40 billion to prop up a dictator in Argentina.

Seems on brand for the United States government, which works for itself and does not represent the people.
