If you look at this chart, especially with the way the numbers are colored and displayed and the percentages attached to them, you can come to the epress conclusion that LGBTQ rights, social programs, DEI, police brutality, etc. are unimportant to voters. Then you read the fine print... (1/X)

Its so demeaning to the life of work they put into their art, and it must suck to have to argue that your work is in fact your own.

It feels like our democracy is less and less "I vote for the leaders who will best solve the problems important to me" and more and more "I vote for the leaders who will enact my policy desires," and that is a complete disaster.

Also most voters have just never thought remotely seriously about policy. “Should we get rid of illegal immigrants? Well, of course; they’re illegal!” There’s nothing deeper than that going on until they start seeing what that actually entails.
Some Dems and pundits overread the significance of Trump's win. They looked at dissatisfaction with the border and discerned a seismic cultural reaction to immigration levels inside the country. The former was real. The latter is a mirage.

It used to be that this kind of reporting was reserved for a CEO like Steve Jobs actually presenting a new technology on a stage that would be for sale that year. Now a CEO tweets and it's on every god damn news outlet like it's already real. Musk promised a man on Mars in 10 years... in 2011!

I wish I had taught English composition from 1970-2015 so I would have never had to deal with ChatGPT, which has made all grading a miserable, meandering, experience.

"X doesn't violate our Y policy" is corporate speak for "we don't wanna do it." Even if it doesn't violate their policy (which it probably does), their policy isn't written in stone or given by god. It can be changed in response to evolving situations and often is when it suits them!

Video game criticism is so far behind the actual audiences of video games. In some ways video game journalism still acts like it's 1995 when evaluating the "entire field."
top 100 lists are stupid fun, but also, not having a single moba or mmo on your top 100 list is a little embarrassing imo

The whole situation is absurd, but this is such a bizarre statement. A former public professional relationship is exactly the kind of situation where one may feel obliged to distance themselves from a mold-brained freak. I can't think of a situation more personally necessary to critique someone.

I wonder how long until movie studios realize they could just take older animated movies, redub them with famous actors from today, and rerelease them in theaters. Seems to be exactly the kind of the craven execs would want to do.

I feel like people tend to pick items/tools/skills in games like Silksong which they think will make the game easier for them. I think that's the wrong choice most of the time, you should pick the items/tools/skills that will make you better at the game/master the game's mechanics.
