One of my FB pals asked me how much time I’d managed to cut off my #Parkrun time.

The answer is 14 minutes and 40 seconds (if my maths is correct) since my first one back in August.

I know I’m going to plateau at some point, but if I can get below 30 minutes I’ll be very happy.

Good #Parkrun this morning in Barrow. Managed a new PB, as well as PR’s for 1k and the mile.

Cold morning, but the rain stayed away thankfully.

My Garmin summary for this morning’s parkrun. PB for the 5k, 1k and the mile. Split times are good too, I did worry that I’d gone out too quick. Report off the parkrun 5k app confirming my time and it was a PB.

It’s good that we’ve moved on from judging artistes solely by their appearance, though we still need to do more.

And I think her music still deserves praise all these years later. She has an amazing voice and she’s clearly a highly intelligent woman. Unfortunately back then men couldn’t handle it.

My run this morning, 10k Threshold Distance Run. I couldn’t keep up the threshold pace for the full segment but I kept going at easy pace for the whole run.

I even did a lap of the parkrun course to get some hill climbs in.

Christian who crossed the line 1st is an amazing runner, he’s come back from a serious injury and spent part of his recovery volunteering as a marshal. He’s doing Run Director training with me and a couple of other people. #LoveParkrun

Layering up this morning before I head off to #Parkrun to do timekeeping. I’ll be cheering on my workmate Emily who’s doing her very first parkrun today, she signed up this week after hearing about my exploits.

I’m timekeeping tomorrow, so I thought I’d get a run in today.
I bumped in to someone I know from #Parkrun, and other stuff, just as she was halfway through her own run. I hope she doesn’t think I was being rude as I briefly said hello before haring off on my Tempo segment. 🤣

This morning’s run was a warmup for 2.5km, followed by 3km at Tempo, and 2km cool-down which was actually closer to 3.6km - bringing it to a grand total of 9.1km. I bumped in to someone I know from Parkrun, and other stuff, just as she was halfway through her own run. Morning run completed. I did an Over & Under session, 4 sets of 400m at Endurance pace and 400m at Threshold. It was hard! But very satisfying even if I was knackered on the last fast set.

Garmin report for this morning’s run. My split times. My Garmin was very annoying by bleeping for being too fast during my warm-up and too slow during my cool-down. Strava is pleased with me. 😃 Pretty sure that I did 4 x sets, I’ll check my Garmin setup.

My pals at Abbotsvale Community Centre are running a ‘Heart and Stroll’ event on Monday 14th February.
