Impossible to communicate to people that once you decide that a group more vulnerable than you can be sacrificed in the name of your own safety or interests that you have already entered into an tacit agreement that you can also be sacrificed in the interests of a group less vulnerable than you.

Unbelievable news.

Pancreatic is one of the deadliest cancers.

New paper shows personalized mRNA vaccines can induce durable T cells that attack pancreatic cancer, with 75% of patients cancer free at three years—far, far better than standard of care.

I started planning this column a while ago, but I kept imagining it wouldn't be necessary, as many other journalists would surely get there first. I've been scratching my head ever since, wondering "where is everyone?" Is this not a huge and obvious issue?
This week's column asks a question that should be in everyone's minds, as Trump reshapes the world's alliances:

How, given that our defence and security capacities are completely infiltrated by the US state, do we defend ourselves if the US becomes our opponent? www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
The question no one dares ask: what if Britain has to defend itself from the US? | George Monbiot
So much of our intelligence and military systems are shared or reliant on the US – if it becomes the enemy, it is already inside the gates, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

when I was a kid I heard another kid arguing about why he had to do service for others in the gurudwara and his parent was like "if you won't help others what is the point of you" and I've never forgotten that line.

Biden finally allows Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range US missiles. Britain and France follow with SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles.
We shall see what this means in practice and which targets Ukraine would be able to strike, but the move is long overdue.
