I've been thinking a lot about that bumper sticker which says "everything looks like a conspiracy theory when you don't understand how anything works" and folks it's pretty obvious to me that the people in power right now have absolutely no desire to understand how anything works.

This isn’t just about NIH or NSF, it’s not about biology vs math/physics vs health outcomes research, not about intramural or extramural.
This is a coordinated attack on ALL US science. The gov’t / academia partnership IS what makes US science. They’re trying to end all science research.
