Brewer, formally bass-player (punk), batter/bowler & housing/social care professional. Sometimes anti-social, always anti-tory. My best friend is a border collie.
16-4. That shot by Harry Brooke. The air of the pub landlord, making up the numbers because half the village is away on a stag weekend, insisting on opening the batting so he can get back to work for opening time.

Just drinking a big imperial coffee stout from I brewery I really respect ... BUT ... I have still never tasted a stout with vanilla that would not have been a better beer without the vanilla addition

Quick reminder: Le Pen wasn't found guilty because the French courts hate democracy. She was found guilty because she broke the fucking law.

It seems the far-right are corrupt the world over; is it any wonder they reject the rule of law?

6 mths now since heading over here from the other place. I find it less compulsive 👍 and when I do dip in for enlightenment or humour, that's exactly what I find 👍

There is an alternative to Government welfare cuts - a 2% tax on wealth. There is no shortage of money here, we just need a fairer approach to tax - take more from the few not the many.

Only one England batter faced more than seven balls! Abject.

Left, Shrewsbury Town manager, Gareth Ainsworth; right, Bob from Twin Peaks. (Or is it the other way round? 🤔)

Next level stats ...
Rachin Ravindra is the first player to score the square root of the year in an ODI (since this is the first square-numbered year in which ODIs have been played). It's also pleasing that NZ's total, Young's score and Ravindra's were the number of degrees in a triangle, right angle and half of one...
Only four players have ever had a Test innings in which their score was the square root of the year when it was made: Dudley Nourse, Jack Siedle, Bert Oldfield and Amar Singh, all of whom scored 44 in 1936 (44^2). Others have the opportunity to join them by scoring 45 in 2025!

I spent hours recently shouting at the TV that Lauren Bell wasn't running through the crease. Noticeably in the last couple of days, her follow through has taken her further down the wicket. My OH is now convinced that yelling at the TV actually works #SAvENG

This is very welcome news, but surely the rate of change could and should be greater than this?
